Advanced Stage
A student at the advanced stage will perform at grade level in both the areas of reading and writing. He or she may still experience gaps in language and understanding, but for the most part, are able to paraphrase, synthesize, and comprehend content area material. A CELDT Level 5 student may be undistinguishable to a teacher or fellow student, and may even be confused for a native speaker.
